Documents: Ready for the Canonical Interview

-
Dear Online Diary,

H2B took a leave from work last Friday so we went and grab the opportunity to accomplish two of the major wedding requirements.

Our first stop: Bamboo Organ Church Registrar’s Office

We passed the rest of the legal documents so we could schedule a Canonical interview with the priest. Ms. Miles was at the office so we clarified some of the churches’ rules and regulations such as:

Bridal March – Nope, I can’t choose my own song. It has to be one of the songs on their list.
Wedding gown – Tube dress is a no-no. I’ve got to find a fashionable bolero real fast.
Unity Candle – Nope, they do not allow unity candle.
Veil – I can wear a birdcage veil. Yes!
Start time – it can’t be earlier that what was agreed upon. Too bad. We requested to start at least 30 minutes earlier than our schedule so we could have more time for picture taking. They won’t give in.
Personal Vows – It’s scripted, not personalized. We have to follow the misallette that they have provided.
Miscellaneous fees - There’s no additional charge or photographer’s fee. Yey! Our photographers can even play with their shots without restriction. We can also get my dream pose. Big hurray! I know Atty. RF can give justice to my dream pictorial.

Anyway, Ms. Miles scheduled us for Canonical interview on August 13, 2010 even without our marriage license (to follow). I’m anxious to know what’s in store for us. Any recollection of what the questions would be?

Next stop: Las Piñas City Hall

The City Registrar’s Office is located at the back of the main building. Luckily, it wasn’t as crowded as we thought it would be. It took us 30 minutes to fill up three copies of the application, pay the fee in the amount of Php 150.00, and submit our CENOMARs and birth certificates from NSO (photocopies). Immediately after, we were instructed to go to DSWD and Health Center to sign up for the required seminars, both of which will take place on August 5, 2010. DSWD’s seminar will be conducted in the morning at 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM while the Family Planning seminar is scheduled from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. We headed back to the Registrar’s office to finalize the application. Our marriage license is going to be released on August 12, 2010!

Our August calendar is full of commitments but there’s no stopping now. Happiness!

  1. Hi Sis! Just relax with your canonical interview. During our turn, the priest asked us how did we meet, what is our perception about marriage, why do we want to get married, why him/her... At SOJ there's an individual interview and then the two of us.

    Just enjoy sis! =)
